Wait on the Lord – Introduction
To wait on the Lord is to confidently expect a favourable outcome. This expectation is based on knowledge of and trust in God.
Those who do not know the Lord will not wait on Him, and those who do not trust Him will not wait on Him. We must have faith in who God is and what He is capable of.
And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. 1 John 5:14
Our strength is renewed as we wait on the Lord (Isaiah 40:31). Waiting on the Lord by trusting, seeking, and praying strengthens our faith and brings us closer to Him.
- But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31

Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor. Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord. Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality. Romans 12:9-13
